Wotton House Wedding in Surrey
Last month I had the pleasure of performing at a wedding for a lovely couple at Wotton House in Surrey. This place was fantastic! It had everything! See pics below.
For the wedding ceremony. I set up equipment at the front/right side of the room to perform as they signed the register, and for their exit song. I sung ‘All of Me’ by John Legend and Al Green’s ‘Let’s Stay Together’ during the signing. Then when it was time to exit the ceremony as husband and wife I sung ‘Higher & Higher’ by Jackie Wilson, a great choice I might add. This really got the crowd going and set the vibe for the day!
I then had the pleasure of singing with the White Baby Grand Piano during the drinks reception, so this meant I had to set this up before the ceremony so that I could go from the ceremony to the drinks with minimal fuss and set up time.
Next bit was to play music as the bride and groom entered the wedding breakfast room, so equipment was set up in this different room as well before the day started so that I could quickly provide this for them as they walked in. The song was ‘Jump Around’ by House of Pain. They wanted me to play this at the precise moment when they entered and were given a shot by a friend, as soon as the shot was ‘downed’, they wanted the track to kick in…and it did!
Whilst they were enjoying the meal, I was preparing my equipment for the evening reception and also checking on them monitoring the volume of the background music I was providing via lap top. I also provided the microphones for the speeches with my new battery powered, wireless speaker which can be set up anywhere, it was a great test for this new equipment and it performed well.
The evening reception started with a bang with me singing the first dance ‘Never Too Much’ by Luther Van Dross which they had a dance routine planned for the first half of the song. It was fab! Then they were having a ‘Marryoke’ to Bruno Mars’ 24k Magic which was being filmed throughout the day, so this was the next song I played from the DJ set which made everyone pile on the dancefloor and really give it some as the videographers went round everyone to capture more footage for the video.
All in all it was a very eventful day and it was my pleasure to provide all the music.
Congratulations to them both!
